Doctrine of Peace

VOLUME ONE - CHAPTER SEVEN

The princes of this world exercise dominion over all the people, and they that are great, exercise authority upon them. But I speak always the words of God and minister as of the ability God gives, that God in all things be glorified through faith in his word, and to God glory and dominion for ever and ever. The word of God raised up dies no more therefore death has no more dominion, and sin shall not have dominion, for we are not under the law, but under grace: for by faith we stand.

To this end was the word of God revived, that God be Lord both of the dead and living: the only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords, and having immortality, dwelling in light which man can approach unto and see, to whom honor and power everlasting. And that the kings of this world no longer exercise lordship, nor authority as benefactor. For God is far above all principality and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.

For by his word were all created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all were created by his word, and for his word. So that the word of God would grow mightily and prevail, and that each man to his own master stands or falls: and he shall be held up, for God is able to make him stand.

And I shall do the same thing, forbearing threatening, knowing that I have a Master also in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. I shall also give unto all that which is just and equal, knowing that no man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Man cannot serve God and money. Therefore I labor and reward labor that all men be the servants of the most high God, and do the will of God from the heart.
