Doctrine of Peace

VOLUME ONE - CHAPTER 12

Our Heavenly Father, you created the heaven and the earth, saw the light that was good, and divided the light from darkness. You said unto Moses, (law of God), Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, (land of bondage), even darkness that may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. And the law came between the camp of the Egyptians (flesh) and the camp of Israel (spirit); and it was a cloud and darkness, it gave light by night: that the one came not near the other all the night.

And now we have heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness and we come near unto you. LORD God you have showed us your glory and your greatness, and now we hear your voice out of the midst of the fire: and we see this day that God does talk with man and he lives. Keep the feet of your saints that we are no longer silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. Bow the heavens and come down, put darkness under your feet. For you are our lamp, lighten our darkness. And that this day be not darkness, have regards for it from above and let your light shine upon it. Let not darkness and the shadow of death stain it, neither let a cloud dwell upon it, to blacken and terrify it.

We have met with darkness in the daytime, and groped in the noonday as in the night. Heavenly Father, return to the land of darkness and the shadow of death: a land without order, where the light is as darkness. Bring out the light, we believe that we shall return out of darkness. Drive us from darkness into light, but chase us not out of the world. Remove the fences from our way that we may pass, and remove the darkness from our paths. All darkness hid in your secrets, the fire that consumes us, darkness we cannot see, the abundance of waters covers us. Uncover the darkness from our face, set an end to darkness and search out all perfection.

Let your candle shine upon our head that by your light we walk out of darkness into the days of our youth, with the secrets of God upon our tabernacle. The Almighty God dwelling with us, our children about us, where there is no darkness or shadow of death where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. Teach us what we shall say that your light arises in the darkness, gracious, full of compassion, and righteous: that wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness.

And in this day the deaf shall hear the words of this book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. Open the blind eyes and bring out the prisoners from the prison, them that sat in darkness out of the prison house. And give us the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secrets, that we may know the LORD GOD, which calls us by his name. Rejoice not against me, O my enemy, I fail but now I shall arise, the LORD GOD is a light unto me. Amen.

Be light, give light upon the earth, and divide the light from the darkness. Rise up early in the morning, and as soon as you are up early in the morning, and have light, depart. Arise, and all the people with you, and pass over Jordan by the morning light. And as the light of the morning, the sun rises, a morning without clouds, the tender grass spring out of the earth by clear shining after rain, in the morning it flourishes and grows up. This day is a day of good tidings, you decree a thing, and it shall be established unto you. And the light shall shine upon your ways to bring back your soul from the pit, that you be enlightened with the light of the living. And your path shall be as the shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day.

O house of Jacob, come, walk in the light of the LORD. I the LORD have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you. And I will bring the blind by a way you knew not; I will lead you in paths you have not known: I will make darkness light before you and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto you, and not forsake you, that you may be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people. Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your re-reward. And your light shall rise in obscurity, and your darkness as the noonday.

Arise, shine, for you light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. And the people shall come to your light, to the brightness of your rising. The sun shall be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto you: but the LORD shall be unto you an everlasting light, and your God your glory. Your sun shall no more go down; neither shall your moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.

Moreover I will restore the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. My people sitting in darkness, see this great light, and to those sitting in the region and shadow of death light will spring up. You are the light of the world: a city set upon a hill that cannot be hid. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven.

No man, when he has lighted a candle, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but sets it on a candlestick, that all enter in may see the light. Take heed, therefore, that the light in you be not darkness. Therefore whatsoever you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which you have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. If any man walk in the day, he stumbles not, because he sees the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbles, because there is no light in him.

Walk while you have the light, for he that walks in darkness knows not whither he goes. While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on me should not abide in darkness.

The night is far spent and the day is at hand, therefore cast off the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light. For God, who commands the light to shine out of darkness, now shines in our heart, the light of the knowledge of the glory of God. Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?

For we are now light in the Lord, walk as children of light. Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. We are all children of light, children of the day, who only have immortality, dwelling in the light, a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and holy nation, a peculiar people; show forth the praises of him who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.

LORD God you have lit our candle, O LORD God we have leaped over a wall. Your grace left a remnant to escape and gave us a nail in your holy place: lighten our eyes, and gave us a reviving in our bondage.

Consider, hear us, O LORD God, make your face shine upon us, and be gracious unto us. Save us for your mercies' sake, be merciful unto us and bless us. Cause your face to shine upon us that your way is known upon earth, your saving health among all nations. Turn us again, O LORD God, and cause your face to shine, and we shall be saved. Teach us your statutes, a man's wisdom makes his face to shine.

Now therefore, O LORD God, hear the prayer of your servant, and his supplications, and cause your face to shine upon your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake. And that we behold the glory of the God of Israel coming from the way of the east, and your voice like a noise of many waters, and the earth shining with your glory. Amen.
